POLISH PEOPLE EXERCISE MORE AND EAT MORE CALORIES. MEAL DELIVERY DIET MAP 2025

The Goodspeed Group and Foodango - a comparison site and sales platform for meal prep diets - have published the report “Meal Prep Diet Map 2025”. This is the second annual review of trends in the diet catering industry in Poland. The data show that Poles are taking a more conscious approach to nutrition and physical activity. The standard diet remains the market leader, but the sports diet has entered the TOP 3 most popular options. Demand for high-calorie sets is growing, and the market, thanks to the increasing availability of doorstep delivery, is no longer the preserve of large cities alone.
SPORT ON THE PODIUM. FITNESS IS CHANGING EATING HABITS
In 2025, the sports diet jumped to third place among the most popular meal prep diets in Poland, with a 7% share - on a par with the low glycaemic index diet. This reflects a broader trend: according to data from, among others, Statistics Poland (GUS) and the MultiSport Index, physical activity among Poles is increasing, and gyms and fitness centres are growing in popularity. Physically active people are increasingly turning to diet catering to ensure they have a properly balanced meal before and after training.
The share of high-calorie diets is growing the fastest: the share of sets above 2500 kcal increased in 2025 by as much as 9 percentage points year on year. The record holder was a customer who, for more than 380 consecutive days, ordered a standard diet above 2500 kcal from one provider - the longest uninterrupted diet ordered in 2025. At the same time, the average length of a diet ordered from one provider over the last 3 years is similar; in 2025 this period was 10.2 days versus 10.3 the year before. A noticeable trend is therefore frequent switching between providers and trying different options, most often from 2-3 brands.
More than 63% of returning Foodango customers tried at least 2 different catering services in 2025, confirming the trend of searching for the right fit rather than loyalty to one brand - says Jakub Gierasimiuk, head of Foodango at the Goodspeed Group.
WITH MENU CHOICE, STANDARD AND SPORT - DOMINATING IN 8 VOIVODESHIPS
The standard diet maintains its leading position with a 28% share, although its share has been steadily declining - in 2023 it stood at 35%. In second place remains the menu choice diet (21%, up from 9% in 2023), showing that consumers are looking for increasing flexibility and personalisation. In as many as 8 voivodeships, the TOP 3 are: menu choice, standard and sport. This sends a signal to producers: a flexible offer and menu tailored to an active lifestyle are now the foundation of competitiveness.
Today the consumer has an unlimited choice of diets, so they are looking for experiences and the right fit. They want flexibility, to have fun with it. Menu choice alone is not enough. They switch meal prep providers just like series on Netflix - without hesitation, in search of a new experience. The remote is in their hands and they decide what will be on the menu tomorrow. Flexible ordering options, multi-diet allowing testing from many providers, drive demand and give freedom of choice - says Jakub Gierasimiuk, head of Foodango at the Goodspeed Group.

MEAL PREP DIETS ACROSS POLAND - FROM CONURBATIONS TO SMALL TOWNS
The availability of meal prep diets outside large cities is growing rapidly. In 2025, the share of deliveries to small towns and cities with fewer than 500,000 residents totalled 65%, significantly more than in the largest cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants. This change was made possible by the consistent expansion of Goodspeed's logistics network and coverage across all regions of Poland. The key trend remains unchanged: the availability of meal prep diets in smaller towns and places is steadily increasing.
Goodspeed now delivers meal prep diets to more than 6,000 locations in Poland - across all 16 voivodeships. Over the last 12 months, the delivery network has grown by nearly 1,000 new locations - primarily in smaller towns and places that until recently were beyond the reach of diet catering deliveries. As a result, Goodspeed reaches more than 60% of the country's population.
According to the report, smaller cities and towns have ceased to be a second-tier market for diet catering. The rise of remote work, growing nutritional awareness and doorstep delivery availability together create conditions for further market growth in all regions.
Smaller cities and towns are increasingly setting the direction for the diet catering industry. Their share of deliveries has grown in recent years alongside Goodspeed's expanding coverage in these regions. In 2025, locations with fewer than 500,000 residents account for 65% of deliveries in total, far more than the largest conurbations. We cover more than 6,000 cities and towns in Poland, continually expanding our delivery reach. As a player that helped build the catering industry in Poland, we are seeing how trends are changing. Despite many strong brands on the market, there are still niches and space for small and medium-sized players, and demand for specialist diets is an opportunity and fuel primarily for smaller meal prep producers - adds Sylwester Rypina, CEO of Goodspeed.
FEWER MEALS, MORE CALORIES - THE CONSUMER IS LOOKING FOR THEIR OWN RHYTHM
In 2025, preferences regarding the number of meals in a set changed - the share of the classic 5-meal diet fell from 65% to 51%. The 3-meal set moved into second place (22% versus 15% a year earlier), and the share of 1-meal diets is also gradually growing (to 5% from 3% a year earlier). Consumers are looking for flexible options and sets tailored to their daily routine and lifestyle, including increased physical activity.
The average price of a meal prep diet, around PLN 50-60 for a 5-meal set, has remained at a similar level for three years, despite inflation. Diet catering remains a competitively priced solution for a growing group of Poles - summarises Jakub Gierasimiuk, head of Foodango at the Goodspeed Group.
